Work Description

Exeter schools’ brand-new admissions reception is a futuristic design single story building using modern materials to compliment the historic red brick campus surroundings. The building also has been designed with an environmental approach by using a timber frame, zinc-based roof material and cedar cladding, The curtain walling along with the bright décor allows for a bright and spacious reception with office spaces and WC facilities that flank either side of the reception.

Project Specific Requirements

Like all schools, access and vehicle/operative movement around the campus is of a top priority when planning a project, The new admissions building was no exception, and adding to this it is located at the front of Exeter Schools entrance. With this the site team had to ensure not only logistic and programming is laid out to the schools rigid requirements, the building site appearance had to be of a high standard at all times promoting the same ethos as the school itself. Noise and dust suppression like all live working environments was also a key factor with close relationship with the school to ensure the project does not have any impact to the school’s daily curriculum. The project was successfully completed on time and to the budget.
